Almost to the minute that I write this, Melanie and I were wandering through the halls of the federal government of Belize, including walking straight into the office of the Attorney General while he was hard at work, in an effort to obtain our marriage license so we could get married later on that evening on the beautiful beaches. Our life has been as equally crazy as getting our license that day, if not crazier at times, but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way with any other woman. I am blessed to have such a wonderful wife that puts up with me and my antics and despite those antics has given me two incredible boys that perform equally frustrating antics.

Hole In One
I took Mason to the driving range yesterday, for the first time, and he absolutely loved it. Between the time that we left until he went to bed he asked me at least seven times when we were going back. Putting another mark in the win column for my brainwashing him into enjoying the same sports as me. Below is a video of his mad skilz where he puts one in the hole (large hole) while showing off with no shoes and looking back at me before continuing with his swing. Perhaps we have the next Phil or Mike Weir* of the tour.
*Editorial note: I included Mike Weir because he is a lefty, won a Masters, and I am immature and think it is funny to say his first and last name together.

Mason Doing His Best Uncle Rico
The reference is probably lost on anyone that is not a fan of Napoleon Dynamite, but here is a video of Mason working on his footwork as a quarterback and trying to throw the ball over the mountain. I’m sure we will be contacted soon by many division one colleges to discuss a letter of intent. They don’t want to take a chance letting him get away at this young age.

Melanie’s Early Mother’s Day Gift
At school this week Mason was working on a project that was for Melanie and why she was the number one mom. When I got it out of his backpack and translated it from kindergarten learning english to a more advanced level of english I was beyond touched and couldn’t wait for Melanie to get home and see it. He really is a special boy with an incredible heart. He obviously gets his loving side from me.
Translation:
My mom was voted #1 because:
She lets me have dessert every night.
I love when my mom:
Eats Pizza
My mom and I like to:
Go to have a picnic
Fun facts about my mom:
She loves me
She drives me to get ice cream
She drives me to school
We obviously need to work on the spelling, but the heart is definitely in the right place. I just wish he had school during the summer so I could get something similar for father’s day. 🙂 Below is the actual writing.
Mason’s First Easter
Karate Kids
At a fundraising breakfast on Saturday morning, Mason and Cutler became mesmerized by the karate demonstration and joined in when invited. I think Mason was more interested because the instructor leading everything promised that anyone 6 and over could break a piece of wood. Naturally Cutler stole the show after Mason went and insisted on breaking wood as well. Here are the videos of our fearsome twosome.
