Mason was really quiet this afternoon before his game and so I went to check on him and found him reading. I hope he keeps it up.

Baseball Bug Biting Away
It looks like the baseball bug has now bit Cutler. At first Cutler wanted to play catch with me, I believe, because Mason would play catch with me. However the last few nights Cutler has asked me to go outside and play catch. It has me glowing with pride and I am loving every minute of it. In the past couple of weeks his throwing has improved dramatically and now he is actually catching the ball. Not caught in this video is the number of times he gets hit with the ball and proudly announces that it doesn’t hurt and he has now started to turn the glove up to try and catch the higher ones rather than relying on the underhand catch. Love love love spending time in the driveway working with the kids on baseball.
The Mumbling Singer
Cutler loves this song and asks me to play nonstop and usually I oblige just to listen to him sing. I imagine he would be much better if he knew all of the words.

Good For My Soul
What do you do after your favorite hockey team blows a 2 games to 0 lead to get knocked out of the playoffs in the process of ripping out your heart and stomping on it for good measure? After ranting and raving about the loss to Melanie, I took Cutler for a bike ride and taught him how to leave skid marks (not the kind in the underwear, he already has that covered).

The Exterminators
Some people use sprays to get rid of ants, others use granules, and some just let them live. Today we discovered Cutler and Mason’s differing approaches. Cutler chooses high frequency noise and Mason goes with brut strength. Pretty sure our neighbors aren’t big fans of Cutler’s approach.
Tommy John
It looks like I may have to start banning Mason from watching the MLB channel. It is all he watches and is apparently getting too fixated on the injuries. Two weeks ago he was complaining of a tight hamstring and yesterday when I picked him up from school one of the counselors told me that Mason had told him he will probably have to have Tommy John surgery since his arm was hurting. I remember when I was a kid I would try to imitate the different batting stances. With Mason it appears he would prefer to imitate the injuries. Before he puts himself on the DL for the remainder of the season I figured I would share some photos from this past Saturday’s game, courtesy of an awesome team mom, Christine Kless.
