Absence makes the heart grow fonder…

If Aaron had left the “thingy” at the hospital, I could have downloaded some great pictures from the camera to the laptop to the blog…  I’ll get some up tomorrow or the next day.  So far so good this Day +6 (transplant day + 6 days).  The doctors and nurses have been telling us that most kids are very sick at this point, with mucisitis or bad diaper rash, but not Cutler!  Superbaby has spit up some mucus the last couple of days, but once he does, he’s ready to play some more!

Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Medical City who are taking such wonderful care of Cutler.  A sincere thank you to my mom and Aaron’s mom who have been working shifts at the hospital to give me time to rest and time to hang out with Mason while Aaron is out of town.  And I can’t forget Aaron’s dad, who is doing me a tremendous favor by keeping the refrigerator uncluttered of leftovers!  And of course Mason, who continues to be a sweet and understanding little boy – most of the time 🙂  The biggest praise goes to God, who is keeping a watchful eye over Cutler and laying His healing hand on my precious little baby.

I hope everyone is feeling the blessings of this holiday season!

  1. Oh, Melanie, thanks so much for the update. It is wonderful to know that Cutler is continuing to do so well after his transplant. It sounds like Superbaby is making good use of his time with his grandmas and keeping them busy playing with him! It is also great to know that my brother is doing his part with keeping down the leftovers. Grandparents really play a key role in so many ways!
Many, many blessings are prayed for and wished each day for Cutler and all of Team Fricke, including the grandparents.

  3. Good Morning Precious Cutler,

I am praying for you today with a song in my Heart. The report from your Mama has been glorious.

Heavenly Father, We Thank You for this day. We Thank You for CUTLER. Please keep CUTLER safe from all danger and harm.

CUTLER, I know my heavenly Father wants the best for you. I am confident your recuperation will swift and complete.

So I sing “What a Friend we Have in Jesus. All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer…..

I have carried all your heart needs to God in prayer. This morning I have prayed for you; for complete healing and increased strength for all you are enduring.

God is watching over you, and will see you through this time of your life.

    I Love You Precious CUTLER.

  4. Melanie, it is so wonderful that Cutler is doing so well. God is keeping a watchful eye on Cutler, but he is getting a little help from Cutler’s devoted doctors and nurses as well as you and Aaron, the Grandmas, and that Grandpa Fricke. We certainly picture Kenneth taking care of the leftovers!

  5. …And yet again…blessings in abundance!!! It’s so good to hear (read) your strong and happy voice, Melanie. As a mother, your strength, grace and rock-solid faith gives peace and hope to all of us. This morning at work, in our morning meeting, We had a “pep ralley” for the Frickes! Lots of smiles (and tears) for that precious, amazingly strong and most of all unbelievably cute little “critter”…Cutler. The big “ah-ha” moment for all of us today was that someday (very soon), Cutler will know where his strength came from…God in human form better known as Aaron, Melanie and Mason! Don’t worry…we would never leave out “props” to the “golden girls”!
Much, much love to you all! We are still ALWAYS praying and thinking of you all!

    All my love,
    Pam
