Today marks Cutler’s fourth second birthday. This birthday is when we celebrate the date of his cord blood transplant and we celebrated it with a morning spent at the oncologist for his six month check up. Despite his fighting the blood draw, we were able to get fantastic results from his blood tests and is now par for the course we continue to be blessed with a healthy “normal” four year old. We then went on to get an EKG and an echo sonogram of his heart and all things look to be normal. As usual the trip was highlighted with Cutler’s visit with his favorite teddy bear that is located in the waiting area. I am hoping we can take a similar picture each time we go in. It will be great to see him when he is 20 cuddling up to the same bear.

Guilty Dog
While I was out of town visiting the grandmas Melanie discovered this in our back yard shortly after letting Rookie out.
Fashionista
Here is the link from Cutler’s appearance this past Friday on the local ABC show, Good Morning Texas.
A funny story about it is that the segment is supposed to be featuring the clothes purchased at Burlington Coat Factory and for some reason we thought it would be a good idea for Cutler to wear the outfit to the show. About 15 minutes into the drive the little bugger decided it was a good idea to vomit all over his new shirt, supposed to be returned after the show. Fortunately we had a change of clothes, meaning the batman shirt that the host of the show focused on. Needless to say we now own a new outfit from Burlington Coat Factory.

Cutler Power
At Mason’s birthday party this past Friday (we celebrate early) there was a balloon artist entertaining those that would be willing to approach him. Naturally Cutler stepped up and was quickly convinced he had the power. What type of power is that you ask? Well as of this morning it was the power to make something light up, the power to help clean up the trimmed landscape, the power to get Rookie to sit, the power to pull me up from the floor, the power to…
Bottom line is Cutler has the power!
Different Worlds
I took these two goofballs to the movies last night for a boys night and beforehand we were on the phone with grandma and grandpa discussing their major exploits for the day. Mason was bragging about his excellent play on the course and Cutler naturally followed it up with “At school I farted!”.
On an unrelated happening, later in the movie there was a scene in Planes where it looked like the lead character, Dusty, had possibly perished. The theatre was very silent until Cutler asked in a pretty loud voice, “Is he dead?”. The movie was good, but I think this gave the audience the biggest laughter.
Introducing Rookie
This past Sunday we made the decision to add another member to the team, a fun loving, trouble seeking, hopefully quick learning four month old black lab. The boys are ecstatic to have him around. I am enduring mixed emotions as I am constantly having to teach him what toys he can play with and what he can’t, yet he is loving enough at times to just lay by my feet as I work. Melanie is experiencing a puppy for the first time, so I think she may be overwhelmed. It definitely makes us miss Tau, but we are really enjoying bringing Rookie into the family.
Another Tough Day At The Course
Mason walking off to start another tough day at golf camp. Yesterday he told me that he parred a par 3 and even hit one over a lake. I didn’t believe him until I talked to the instructor today and he verified. I am thinking it might be time to home school him and forget all other sports. Spending six hours on the course per day should get him on the tour by 18.
Like Father Like Son
This past week my wife was nice enough to let me fly to Alabama to play golf with my good buddy, Brian, and while I was there I had every intention of sitting down and writing some long overdue posts. What I quickly learned is that after playing 36 holes of golf in hot and muggy weather you tend to tire quickly. Despite not going out at night, I would sit down at the hotel room desk in front of the laptop and quickly find myself imitating my father as we often find him when he visits our house.
Our Newest Hockey Skater
After taking a few months away from the rink, we have started back and both boys are showing some great progress. Thanks to a great instructor, Coach Katie, Mason is doing stuff naturally that I have never seen him do before after only two lessons. However, the most impressive improvement has been by Cutler. After two lessons with her I decided to put him in hockey skates and after only two falls he is “zooming” all around the ice. He loves skating by himself as I sit in the bleachers playing games on my phone, but I couldn’t resist and got out there with him to film this for his adoring fans.
He was definitely going faster than it appears, next time I won’t skate alongside him when I film.
UPDATE:
While looking through another day of videos I realized I had one taken from the stands where you can see just how quick he can actually motors when he wants. Now if we could only get his right leg to stride as well. Also, take note of the dancing Mason skating in the background at the beginning of the video. I can picture him in cut off jeans, a tank top and busting his moves in the local roller skate rinks in the 80’s.
Welcome Back
So last week I sat down and made a decision that it is time to start posting a bit more actively than I have. In fact I even posted a fun picture of what I have been doing in place of actually keeping everyone updated on our happenings. Then after a days worth of investigation I realized that all of those that were gracious enough to follow us via email were deleted (not by me). After another day of debating the solution with the wonderful people at wordpress they realized that they could add everyone back. That being said, if you had deleted on your own and have now been added back, my apologies, please feel free to remove yourself once again and take the chance to miss out on the amazing and brilliant stuff that comes from my mind. I didn’t want you to be my friend anyway.
For those that are choosing to stick around, I apologize for my few months of procrastination and writer’s block. My goal is to litter your inbox with at least one post per week going forward, but don’t be surprised if it’s multiple posts per one day a week as I am considering opening the flood gates of entertainment that usually resides solely in my head.
I would ask that you please check out the last couple of posts and we have some friends in need of prayers and positive thoughts from everyone possible.
