Blood Results Are Back

We heard from the doctor’s office in regards to the blood taken at Cutler’s two year visit and there is no sign of any molecular leukemia cells whatsoever and the host/donor ratio has gone up from 90% donor to 93%.  Ideally it would be nice for it to be a lot closer to 100%, but the doctor has said that he has many patients that it takes several years for it to get that high.  The most important thing is that all cells look normal.

Stuff Mason Says

As Mason’s knowledge of life in general continues to grow he has really started to impress/humor me with his logic as he vocalizes it to us.  Rather than horde this information to myself, I think it is time to start sharing his wisdom with the remainder of the world or at least the few people who follow us.

My first entry into this new series took place a couple of days ago in the kitchen where Mason was jumping in his new basketball shoes.  Naturally, being a direct descendant of me his vertical is extremely limited and so I started to tell him he needed to jump higher or at the very least just clear 1/4 of an inch when he jumps.  He quickly retorted with “Dad, it’s gravity.  It’s holding me down.”

I didn’t have the heart to explain to him that it was a lot more than just gravity.

Milestones…

This past Wednesday Melanie picked up the boys from school and Cutler’s teacher told Cutler to tell Melanie what he did that day and his immediate response was “played with legos.”  Leave it up to Cutler to bury the lead in a big fashion.  The teacher was expecting him to tell Melanie that he had used the toilet to potty twice and poop another time.  He kept it up all week, but for some reason doesn’t have the same desire when he gets home and so aside from a poopcident during a bath on Thursday, it stays in the diapers at home.  We are thrilled that he has taken that first step and can’t wait until he starts to practice it at home.  Then again, we might be happy to wait for it to start at home until he learns to wipe himself as well.  🙂

Belated Birthday

December 3rd was the second birthday for Cutler’s bone marrow and all is going great.  We saw the doctor for his bimonthly checkup and everything looks great.  We are still waiting on the more in depth test results to tell us how much of his marrow is donor compared vs host, but the doctors are still very pleased with where he is.  The last time we were in for a checkup Cutler’s white cell count was a bit elevated as he had just finished fighting a virus, but this time they were back to normal meaning his immune system is working the way it is supposed to and Cutler continues to be a normal two year old, stubbornness included.

Mahna Mahna

We took the boys to see the new muppet movie this past weekend and now the Mahna Mahna song is stuck in my head ever since and apparently is stuck with the boys as well…or at least their version of it.

Here is a link to the actual song if you need a better reference point.

There’s a very good chance this will now be stuck in your head…enjoy.

Missing The Overbite

Mason and I went to a junior hockey game last night and in typical fashion he tried his darndest to get on the big screen.  The only thing missing from his dance routine is the overbite that I display during my dance routines.
