Cutler’s New Sport

On Monday Cutler served as the honored hero for the LLS Links for Leukemia golf tournament and he quickly fell in love with the game as well as a new hockey player.  I was lucky enough to have Cutler join me and Brian for the last 10 holes of the round and he absolutely loved every minute of it from putting, to hitting the driver, to Brian pulling tees and golf balls from his ears.  I can’t even tell you the number of times he told me he wanted to play golf every day now.  During the luncheon I told our story and then Dallas Stars center Vern Fiddler presented a signed jersey to Cutler and gave us another for Mason.  No matter how hard I tried, I could not peal that jersey off of Cutler despite it being so hot outside.  As it turns out, Vern lost his younger sister to Leukemia when she was eight years old and he has taken to working with the LLS as one of his charitable efforts.  We talked for a bit and is usually the case with most professional hockey players I have met, he is an incredibly nice and genuine man.  I appreciate what he is doing to help spread the word about LLS and the fight against blood cancers.

Below is a quick video that the Stars, also a big supporter of LLS, put together on the day as well as a few photos shot from my phone at the course and at our detour to the PGA store on the way home.
