Still In Red

Cutler is still in the PICU and still running a fever.  He isn’t doing much other than sleeping and complaining whenever you try to move to make any type of adjustment.  He is definitely not himself, but the required holding time does allow us to cuddle with him as long as we like.

Dr Weinthal has informed us that the staff infection is not an issue and that all he has right now is strep.  It is something that we all walk around with, but we have the ability to fight it off as we have white blood cells and his are virtually zero.  He said that while this is very serious, it is pretty much what they expected and so he is not surprised.  He expects that Cutler will need to be hospitalized for the next two weeks, but hopefully out of the PICU within a few days.  Because Cutler is not drinking much and still vomiting, it looks like he will start to receive protein intravenously.  That being said, Melanie fed him a few ounces two hours ago and as of right now everything is still inside of him.

  3. Howdy Team Fricke from Texas,
I’ve been keeping up with y’all from my mom, Betty’s cousin Beverly. It’s no surprise that Cutler is a superbaby with such superb parents. We’ll keep praying for his healing and your stamina.

  4. Good Morning Melanie and Aaron,

Today’s prayer requests are that his body continues to heal and heals quickly.

God, your goodness overwhelms us! Thank You for the friends who are obedient to you and your Holy Spirit. Thank You for their willingness to help and be there in so many ways for this family. The giving hearts that have come forward astounds us and it is all because of You, Lord! We give you all the glory and praise.

Heal Cutler to completion quickly and comfort Melanie and Aaron while you do. We love you so much!

  7. Chad,

Many thanks for the beef. We did receive the delivery, but am holding out until tomorrow night to enjoy with the whole family. It is taking everything I have to refrain from commenting further, but this is a family oriented blog. 🙂

Thanks again and will let you know how it tastes.
