Infection

A couple of hours ago Cutler started running a fever of 101 and just recently vomited quite a bit.  The fever is now up to 102 and he is being treated with antibiotics.  The nurses believe the vomiting is just due to the fever and are not concerned right now and have given him some anti nausea medicine.  Tests have been run to determine the type of infection and help determine how long he will need to be on antibiotics.  The doctor assured us a few days ago that it would be very surprising if he didn’t start running a fever, so this hasn’t caught us by surprise however we were hoping that he would continue to be the exception to the rule so it is a bit disheartening.  Regardless, he is in the hospital where he needs to be and is under good care and monitoring.

On a positive note, Mason did get to hold his brother today and give him lots of hugs.  He really does love and miss his baby brother and Cutler continues to react as if a rock star just entered the room when Mason kicks open the door and shouts “CUTLER!”.  Pictures to be provided tomorrow.

  1. HI!
I am glad to hear that the 2 of you got to spend a little time alone. We missed you this weekend at Matt & Libby’s wedding. Hang in there is Cutlers’ fever. I am sure it is scary, but hopefully it will normalize soon.

  2. It’s good to hear the nurses are not concerned and hopefully this is just a temporary thing. Cutler looks so great in the videos you posted, he is such a beautiful baby. We did miss you guys at the wedding, but many more people are praying for Cutler now, and we know it will make a difference.

  3. So, here is the third comment today that we missed you guys at the wedding. It was great and Becky’s kids were the hit of the dance floor. There was a little boy there that couldn’t make up his mind between Caroline, Lindsay, and Josie, but Caroline let him know she was the ONE and he kept bringing her candy the rest of the night.
We were thinking of all the Frickes in Dallas and hoping the weekend was going well for you, too. We hope and pray that the nurses are right and this fever that Cutler has is to be expected and that it comes down very soon.
All our love to all the Dallas Frickes,
    Aunt Linda and John

  4. You are right! Cutler is right were he needs to be for monitoring his infection. It sounds like it was expected, but nonetheless, not welcomed!

Glad you two went out to recharge the batteries! Stay strong and together you will keep fighting with Cutler to beat his natsy “monster”!!

    We pray for him everyday!
